Adult Literacy
Milwaukee Public Library has taken the lead in providing adult literacy services for Milwaukeeans in many forms such as digital literacy, financial literacy, health literacy, information literacy, culinary literacy, and technology literacy. The library’s focus on adult programs and services involves a continuum of learning that enables adults to achieve their goals, develop their knowledge and potential, and participate fully in their community and wider society. Current popular adult programs include the MPL book clubs, Technology Tuesdays, English as a Second Language, visiting author chats, music and art appreciation, continuing education classes, eco-friendly DIY programs, history and art lectures, and much more.

Continuum of Learning
Adult patrons also utilize MPL’s educational programs for a variety of reasons including tutoring to complete their K-12 education, or for those who possess a high school diploma but still have gaps in basic skills such as reading, math, or spoken English.
Why I Support Milwaukee Public Library Foundation
"Participating in the English Reading Hour and in the English Conversation Hour at the Milwaukee Public Library from the Dominican Republic has been a great thing for me. It helped me finish my English program successfully and I had a lot of fun in every meeting."
