Supporting Eco-Friendly Advances

Environmental Initiatives

The ongoing renovation of Milwaukee Public Library neighborhood branches has been influenced by our community’s desire for green infrastructure and environmental programming to reflect appreciation for our natural environment. To date, millions of dollars have been raised for several eco-friendly features that were incorporated into the outdoor designs at MPL branches to expand green spaces, improve storm water quality, reduce storm water run-off and protect the ecological health of the area.

Green Home Program

Milwaukee Public Library also holds a key role in educating and informing citizens about issues affecting our environment and freshwater resources. The Green Home program features education, take-home materials, discussion groups, tours, field trips, and DIY workshops for youth, adults, schools, and small businesses.
